Toasted Onion Beef Stew

A delicious warm meal for a cold winter day. Allow the slow cooker to do all the work while you have some free time.

Ingredients

1/4 cup flour

2 pounds stew beef, cut into 1" pieces

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 large onion, cut into 1” pieces

1 bag of baby carrots (16 oz), carrots cut in half

4 russet potatoes, cut into 1” pieces

6 tablespoons Toasted Onion Herb

3 cups beef stock

1 bag frozen peas (16 oz)

Directions

1. Add flour to a shallow bowl. Dredge the beef through the flour, shaking off any excess.

2. In a large skillet add the oil over high heat till very hot, but not smoking. Add the beef and brown on all sides, about 10 minutes.

3. Add the onion, carrots, potatoes, and Toasted Onion Herb seasoning in the slow cooker. Top with the browned beef and the stock.

4. Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours.

5. Stir in the frozen peas, cover, and cook for additional 15 minutes. Serve warm.

Substitutions
Recipe Tip:
For Guinness Beef Stew - swap out 1 cup of the beef stock for 1 cup of beer
